Mini cars are so much in fashion nowadays due to their compact look and better handling. But a mini car with sports feature is a win-win game. Toyota took this advantage and presented the new homologation model 2021 Toyota GR Yaris at the Tokyo Auto Salon. The upcoming Yaris is a unique combination born from the engineering techniques and designs of Tommi Makenin Racing and Toyota Gazoo Racing. The power to weight ratio is also impressive due to lightweight structure and engine placement. Toyota has selected Motomachi Plant for the Production of new GR Yaris.

2021 Toyota GR Yaris Interior
The new 2021 Yaris is a performance-oriented car and one can judge this even from its outlook. It is a three-door car with frameless doors. The wide grille design, muscular wings, and spoiler give it a sportier stance on the road. Although it’s a compact car it does give a look of a coupe due to its low roofline. The roofline is 3.6 inches lowered as compared to its predecessor making it aerodynamically fit. Toyota has efficiently used aluminum and polymer carbon fiber in the manufacturing of the car to keep it lightweight and it only has a curb weight of 2821 pounds. The new GR Yaris would be running on BBS forged 18 inches wheel housed by highly functional Michelin Pilot Sports 225/40 tires. The car is 180.5 cm wide, 146 cm high and 399.5 cm long with a wheelbase of 255.8 cm. Curb weight is 1.280 kg.
New Toyota GR Yaris 2021 Engine
The new Yaris is powered by a direct-injection, three-cylinder 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, which produces an output of 268 horsepower and torque of 272 pounds-feet. Toyota claims that the new Yaris is the highest horsepower producing car in the three-cylinder engines vehicle lineup. A new ‘GR four’ system is being installed to distribute the power to all four wheels through all in the one-plate clutch which can be controlled electronically and thus making it an AWD system car. The engine is paired up with six-speed manual transmission. The driver can choose from three driving modes, Normal, Track and Sports as per the road requirement. The highest speed recorded is 143 miles per hour and it reaches from 0-62 miles per hour in just 5.5 seconds.
Toyota has introduced a new platform for Yaris while combining the GA-B platform for front and GA-C platforms for the rear end of the car. It has McPherson Strut front suspension whereas the rear suspension is a double-wishbone system. The new platform along with a strong suspension system results in optimized handling and stability.
