Alongside its electrifying and high-performance LC F model, Lexus seems to be working on a more hardcore RC F model. This is a 2020 Lexus RC F GT coupe which has already been sighted on the Germany roads. It’s a mid-sized road race car targeting track enthusiasts and one that hopes to compete with the more entrenched German models.
2020 Lexus RC F GT Exterior
The exterior design of this model borrows heavily from the 2016 RC F GT Concept car. If we match the latest RC F model, the car seems to get upgraded headlamps and a fresh layout for the grille and bumper. The two-element headlamps have been replaced with bigger units that integrate the previous model’s LED signature strip. The test car adorns a unique grille mesh and revised bottom vents.

The bumper outlets have been reduced and given a rather different shape from their predecessors. Being a high-performance model, you should expect a larger splitter and a carbon-fiber hood. The sides feature gently revised mirror caps that contains a greater amount of chrome. In order to reduce its weight, the carbon-fiber roof and new wheels have been used.
Lexus RC F GT 2020 Interior
The interior layout retains most features from the current model and gets some few revisions to the infotainment system and the trim. A bigger display with more controls is expected to keep up with the modern standards. A number of buttons beneath the A/C vents are expected to make way for a new control layout.

Just like any other sports/race car, this release is also expected to get a flat-bottom steering wheel. The spokes may get new buttons while the instrument cluster is likely to have revised graphics. The steering wheel has a leather wrapping while the car’s grip areas use Alcantara to give it a race-inspired feel. The GT package is expected to come with additional features like contrast stitching, extra performance indicators, and red needless.
2020 Lexus RC F GT
This car is expected to use an upgraded version of the 5.0-liter V-8 engine. The engine upgrades are expected to give it horsepower capacities of about 500 horses. This would be sufficient enough to enable it to compete with the likes of BMW M series and Mercedes AMG models. The torque capabilities would be slightly higher than the 389 lb-ft offered by the current model.

The previous 8-speed transmission system is expected to give way for a quicker and better dual-clutch transmission system in order to match the upgraded engine. A revised suspension will enable the car to handle the additional power. In terms of the sprint, the car should be able to move from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds some (estimation).
Price and release date
The car could be released before the end of 2018 or early in 2019. The current RC F costs about $64,500. Depending on the number of premium features that Lexus is working on, this F GT model may require you to pay betwen $95.000-$105,000.
