2018 Toyota Prius C Review

Toyota is putting its time and effort to bring the Prius C with betterment for hybrid car lovers every passing year. So, it is expected that Toyota will bring a redesigned new 2018 Toyota Prius C in the market next year. The new model will be light weighted along with better agility and handling components. Even for 2017 model the Toyota team already tweaked the suspension and worked on vehicle structure to give it more aerodynamic look.

Buyers look forward to getting 3 trims(one less) of the new Prius C, trim 1,2, and 3, so they have a choice similar to the 2017’s model. The new Prius is an environmentally friendly car and it has already placed on 8th position on Country’s Greenest car list by the ACEEE (American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy) for its low Carbon dioxide emission.

Toyota Prius C 2018 Interior

There’s some info available regarding the interior features of the new Prius C. However the previous model catered so many features which we expect to be carried in the new model too. Passengers will enjoy keyless and illuminated entry system along with Bluetooth hands-free and voice recognition and with iPod connectivity. For sound, Entune Audio system along with Multimedia Bundle and four speakers will be installed in the car. There will be 6.1 inches display touchscreen along with a 3.5 inches TFT Multi Info Display. A USB 2.0 port will also be available for streaming music and be accessing the phone book.

2018 Toyota Prius C interior

FM/AM CD player will be standard on the base trim. Higher trims will receive black chrome accents and exquisitely trimmed and heated seats. Push Button Start feature, Heated steering wheel, and the rearview camera will also be standard on upper trims and optional for trim 1 and 2. Moreover, trim 3 will get Entune Premium Audio with SiriusXM All Access Radio, FM/AM cache radio, Touch Tracer Display, HD Radio and six speakers. Seating capacity is 5.

2018 Toyota Prius C Redesign, Exterior

For the exterior of the new Toyota Prius C 2018, it is expected to carry the compact and conventional outlook along with its rounded nose. Side mirrors will get signal indicators whereas window sills, windshield, door handles and rear spoiler will receive black finish. Headlights will receive low and high beam LED Projection treatment to give a clear vision to drivers at night. Higher trims will have fog lights along with heated side mirrors. Rumors are that Toyota is going to launch three new colors for the new Prius C 2018. Just like its predecessor, it will also run on 15 inches aluminum wheels whereas 16 inches wheels will be available for higher terms.

Colors: Moonglow, Tide Pool Pearl, Tangerine Splash Pearl, Absolutely Red, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Classic Silver Metallic, Black Sand Pears, Sandstorm and Blue Streak Metallic.

Dimensions: Curb weight 2530 lb., Wheelbase 100.4 inches, height 59.6 inches, width 68.6 inches, length 162.4 inches.

The upcoming model of the Prius C is expected to carry the same powertrain as its predecessor. It will be four cylinders 1.5L ECVT Hybrid, Atkinson cycle gasoline engine which produces 73 horsepower and 82 pounds-feet of torque paired up with 2 AC motors. The combo together produces 99 horsepower and 125 lb.-ft.(169 Nm). The transmission was CVT (front wheel drive) and we expect it to remain same in the new model too.

Light weighted material and hybrid technology are utilized efficiently to shed the overall weight, thus resulting in enhanced car’s performance. We expect to have the same or upgraded ‘Normal, EV and ECO’ driving modes which we had in 2017 Toyota Prius C. It is also anticipated to get a better fuel economy than the previous model, now it should be – mpg city/highway/combined 48/43/46(estimated). However figures are yet to come so, it is quite early to say anything about its performance. The fuel tank is 9.5 gal.

Safety and Advance features

The new 2018 model of Prius C will be equipped with Toyota Safety Sense C suite, which provides valuable assisting technology to drivers and provides a smooth driving experience. The suite includes the following features:

Adaptive Cruise Control (optional)
Pre Collision System
Brake Assist feature
Nine airbags
Automatic High beam facility
LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren)
Tire Pressure Monitor System

There can be some additional and upgraded features too but it is too early to predict about them.

Price and Release date

Pricing and official release date of the 2018 Toyota Prius C have not been declared by the Company yet. However, we anticipated welcoming the new Prius C by fall 2018. Pricing is expected to be slightly raised from the ongoing model and expected to be around 20.600 dollars.

1. 2018 Prius C One – $20,630
2. 2018 Prius C Two – $21,430
3. 2018 Prius C Three – $22,855.
