The 2017 Auto Show at Shanghai was the place where Lexus introduced the new 2018 Lexus NX. This model was first introduced in 2014 and since then it was a hit and successful model of Lexus. This smallest SUV has now got its mid-cycle update with improvised interior design and enhanced chassis. The previous model of Lexus NX was available in three trims, NX 200t, NX 300h and NX F Sports. Now the Lexus has also changed the name of its standard model, the previous model which was known as 200t will be available with new name Lexus NX 300 and the other trims will continue with the same names NX 300h and NX F Sports.
2018 Lexus NX Exterior
The new 2018 NX has got a refreshed sportier face. The new design looks sleeker and aerodynamically fit due to well blended and redesigned front bumper and upper spindle grille portion. At the same time, the car seems to have a more aggressive look with the upper grille extended towards the front fenders and the fog lamps housing at the corner of the lower front bumper. It is also equipped with triple projector headlamps borrowed from the LC luxury coupe. The NX 300h and F Sport have got the addition of vertical elements at the inner side of the grille along with the chrome and satin trim rudiments.

The rear of the car has also received some updates including broad rear bumper and elongated taillights. The bumper cover has chrome finished exhaust tips along with the refreshed underbody spoiler. Grille’s spindle motif elements are also visible on the lower bumper at the back and to highlight the “L”-shaped lenses they are garnished with black color. The NX Hybrid lovers will find a blended slotted sectional part having a satin chrome L-shaped border in the underbody spoiler. A kick sensor is also added which sense the movement under the rear bumper and open and close the rear hatch in case if your hands are busy. The car will be running on 18 inches alloy wheels. The exclusive Lexus NX F Sports trim will get bright machined finish wheels with black paint.
Lexus NX 2018 Interior
The major update received in the interior of the new Lexus crossover is its infotainment screen. The 7 inches screen on the dashboard is replaced by a 10 inches screen. The cabin now has a luxurious and sportier feel along with improved interfaces control. For easy functioning, the Lexus NX now have a redesigned and large remote touch pad. To add more premium look the window switches, audio knob, door handles in a couple of metallic/chrome options, shift knob and drive modes options to choose, all have a chrome satin finished look. The messy buttons on the HVAC control panel have been swapped with neat ‘Ls’ marked toggle switches.
2018 Lexus NX interior
The analog clock is upgraded with the outer ring and much simpler design and now it can adjust different time zones’ timings via satellite control. The Takumi geniuses have again put in their efforts in making an intricate and subtle pattern on the perfectly stitched leather surfaces of the car. The Smartphones now get fast charging due to increase amperage of the optimally placed USB ports and the phones can easily be placed on the enlarged wireless charger tray. In addition, the NX F Sports will get exclusive TAKUMI craftsmanship’s Metallic Sport interior trim finery.
Lexus brand has always got high ranking on safety. So the new Lexus NX 2018 will also cater some dynamic safety technology including the exclusive Lexus Safety System along with the following safety features:

Engine and Suspension
As the new Nexus will have two trim levels. The NX 300, former NX 200t will come with the same inline 4, 2.0-liter turbocharged engine which can generate 235 horsepower. No changes under the hood of NX 300h, it will also run on the same 2.5 liters inline 4 pairing with twin electric motors, able to produce 194 horsepower. Both the engines are fuel efficient. The suspension is also tweaked for enhanced handling and new shock absorbers are installed to ensure smooth riding. For better cornering and turn in response, the bushings, stabilizer bars, and springs have also received some fine tuning. To offer a better control and handling stability Lexus has employed an Adaptive Variable Suspension system in NX model, which was already featured in LC500 650. The system provides immediate compression and damping modification.
Price and Release date
Lexus has not confirmed anything related to pricing and release date of its new model 2018 Lexus NX, so the buyers need to wait for any further information revealed by the Company.
With dynamic features, refined design and superior performance, the new Lexus NX are surely going to be a good addition for the buyer is the smaller SUV range.
