2018 Lexus LC500h (hybrid) Review

The 2018 Lexus LC500h coupe is the hybrid variant of the LC500, whereas “h” in the name refers to the Hybrid version. The 2018 model is a tempting, dramatically designed luxury coupe that defines a new age for the worldwide luxury brand. The design, performance, and the attractive look of the coupe assist position it as one of the flagship products. Much as LS 460 flagship of Lexus developed an LS 600h hybrid model. Lexus unveiled the 2018 coupe model, which includes a hybrid version, at the latest Auto Show in Detroit.

Based on the design lingo of the LC 500, 2018 model is the swoopy double-door luxury coupe that will make its first appearance shortly at the 2016 Motor Show in Geneva. Lexus will refer to this model as Multi-Stage Hybrid System. It is expected that the new model hybrid variant will feature all the striking concept car glamour as the LC 500.

2018 Lexus LC500h Changes, Exterior

The next generation Lexus LC500h would ride on a novel universal structural design for luxury vehicles of Lexus. The external styling of the 2018 Lexus hybrid variant will be somewhat similar to that of the three-year-old LF-LC concept. It will feature the identical intersecting curves, massive back fenders and narrowing roofline similar to its non-hybrid variant. The new model hybrid comes with the wheelbase length of 112.9, which is less than that of the LS 460 sedan by 4 inches.

The 2018 LC500h would sprint on 20-inch or 21-inch alloy wheels. Except the hybrid badging, the new model LC 500h is inflexible to differentiate from its non-hybrid counterpart. Additionally, the 2018 Lexus Hybrid engine will be placed behind the axle in the front. This signifies that both the vehicle and the engine feature a front-mid design, which will drastically help in handling and in improving the overall performance of t chassis.

2018 Lexus LC500h Interior

The cabin will have the same interior design as that of the LC 500. As a result, its cabin will envelop occupants with sewed surfaces, flimsy inlays, and a high, tread leather-enfolded dashboard. The new hybrid also comes outfitted with Magnesium-alloy paddle shifters that are placed at the back of the steering wheel, whereas the gauge cover features Frankenstein nubs to regulate driving modes in addition to controlling the electronic stability organization. hybrid Engine

The 2018 Lexus hybrid is going to be powered by a combination of a powerful electric motor and a traditional V6 engine with the displacement of 3.5 liters. The electric motor will be operated by a set of durable lithium-ion battery. This combination offers the new model hybrid the required power of 354 ponies and the required torque of 257 pounds per foot. This will 113 ponies less than the power offered by the V8 engine of the LC 500. However, this combination offers better acceleration to the vehicle that makes it attain the 60 mph speed from the start in 4 seconds, whereas the LC 500 hits the same mark in 4.5 seconds.

The conventional power-split tool of Lexus would act as the transmission, which is analogous to a continuously variable mechanical transmission. However, the wrinkle here is that between the output shaft and the power-split tool is a four-speed mechanical transmission, which divides the power between eight and ten stepped gears, so the gear shifting will not feel like the rubber band, meaning it will not be much flexible.
The 2018 model hybrid variant will be offered with the rear-wheel drive system as standard.
