2018 Lexus GX 460 review

2018 Lexus GX 460 Changes, Exterior

The outlook for the new Lexus GX 2018 is eye-catching with superb exterior colors. It has an hourglass shape nose and the spindle-shaped big grille makes it look more muscular and off-road compatible SUV. It also features LED headlights, LED Day Time Running Lights and LED fog lamps. There is also a viper integrated with the rear spoiler to maximize the visibility in snowy or foggy weather. On the roof instead of thick rails, there are sleek roof rails to match the exterior look.

It will be running on six-spoke 18 inches alloy wheels, it also has mud and snow rated 265/60R18 tires. Front discs are 13.3-in (ventilated) and rear is a bit smaller 12.3-in also ventilated. These luxury SUV dimensions are 192.1 inches long and 74.2 inches high and wide with a wheelbase of 109.8 inches. Curb weight is almost the same as the previous model, 5,198 lb. The capacity of its fuel tank is 23 gallons. Moreover, an exclusive Sports Design Package is also available which feature updated front fascia, 18 inches gunmetal wheels and many other additional specs.

Engine

The smooth ride and great towing capacity of the 2018 GX 460 come from a powerful V8 4.6-liter engine. It is able to generate an output of 301 horsepower and a torque of 329 pounds-feet @ 3,500 rpm. The luxury SUV is paired up with the six-speed sequential shift automatic transmission. It also has 6500 pounds of towing capacity and in just 7.8 seconds it can reach from 0-60 mph speed, top speed is 110 mph / 177 km/h. The fuel economy is 15 mpg in the city, 18 mpg on the highway and 16 mpg combined. The front has an independent wishbone suspension whereas the rear has four-link suspension.

Price and Release date

The new Lexus GX starting cost is around $51,855 for base trim, $56,300 for premium trim and $63,200 for 2018 Lexus GX 460 Luxury trim, however, expect an increase in price with additional options and packages. The 2018 model of the Lexus GX is expected to be available by the end of the year 2017.
